About the role
A rare opportunity has arisen to work with us in Acute Specialist Clinics at Blackburn Public Surgical Centre on a temporary part-time basis. Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Registered Nurse or Associate Nurse Unit Manager with experience in general surgical/ gynaecology or orthopaedics nursing?
Are you looking for a new challenge? Specialist Clinics at Blackburn Public Surgical Centre is a busy department of the hospital meeting the needs of patients from the community by providing a range of specialist services including new appointments, review appointments for ongoing care or post admission (from Emergency Department or wards). This unique opportunity will provide you with the capacity to develop your leadership skills in specialist clinics, along with being part of a friendly and supportive team environment
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Division 1 Nurse / Midwife Registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
- Experience and understanding of Specialist Clinics and or/ surgical nursing (desirable)
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability
- Demonstrated involvement in maintenance and improvement of clinical standards
- High level of interpersonal communication and organisational skills.
- Computer literacy with proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to work as part of a diverse team.
- Demonstrated understanding of conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), patient administration system (IPM), and Clinical Patient Folder (CPF) (desirable)
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
