About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Advanced laparoscopic consultant to join Eastern Health's new Women's Health Clinics team as a Clinical Consultant. This role will be integral to the coordination of care for women experiencing chronic pelvic pain, symptoms of menopause and perimenopause and concerns around their sexual and reproductive health. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with our nursing, medical and allied health team to provide consumers with improved access to health care specific to their needs. The Consultant will be responsible for triaging referrals, undertaking clinical assessments, managing patients , organising and performing operations , organising allied health input , coordinating overall care, partnering with consumers, referring to community partners and participating in group education and health promotion activities. As a new service, the Consultant will also be involved in the initial clinic set up and evaluation of the service including ongoing system, process and workflow adaptations. Given the large scope of this role and specialty nature of these clinics, consideration will be given to a job share arrangement if there are two candidates with expertise in different components of Women's Health. About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Must be a registered medical practitioner in the State of Victoria.
- Must have AGES Fellowship.
- Fractional EFT acceptable
- Must have advance laparoscopy Skills
- Must hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANCOG), or hold equivalent qualifications to enable recognition as a specialist Obstetrician / Gynaecologist.
- Must participate in relevant college continuing education programs particularly related to Obstetrics/Gynaecology.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
