About the role

Eastern Health has received funding from the Department to open specialised Women's Health Clinics. The Women's Health Psychologist role forms part of the core requirements of these clinics and is integral to the implementation of this new service. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced psychologist to join Eastern Health's new Women's Health Clinics team. This role will be integral to providing specialised clinical/health psychology assessment and therapeutic intervention to women attending the Women's Allied Health Clinic and Pelvic Pain Clinic. This may include providing care for women experiencing chronic pelvic pain, symptoms of menopause and perimenopause and concerns around their sexual and reproductive health. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with our nursing, medical and allied health team to provide consumers with improved access to health care specific to their needs. Service delivery may include group and individualised sessions. As a new service, this is an exciting opportunity to be involved in service development and establishing appropriate models of care for this cohort. About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Hold a Masters or Doctoral coursework qualification in Clinical/Health Psychology that has been approved by the Psychology Board of Australia. 
  • Have full registration or eligibility for full registration as a Psychologist by the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA). 
  • Hold endorsement, be eligible for endorsement or eligible to work towards endorsement with AHPRA as a Clinical/Health Psychologist. 
  • For Grade 3 applicants
    • Be an approved PBA Supervisor for higher degree placement and for the registrar program
    • Have five years experience after attainment of post graduate qualification 
  • Holder of a current Driver’s License  
  • Demonstrated multidisciplinary teamwork skills  
  • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills  
  • Demonstrated ability to develop evidence based and innovative psychology services  
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of research and quality improvement  activities   
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and education

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
