Administrative Assistant

 

  • Permanent Part Time | Monday to Wednesday
  • Wellington House | Box Hill
  • 32 hours per week

 

This role supports Turning Point Addiction Services at Wellington House by ensuring seamless administrative operations for our drug and alcohol treatment programs. The position enables clinical staff to focus on patient care, maintains essential billing and records management, supports client recovery journeys through efficient service delivery, ensures compliance with health standards, and strengthens our multidisciplinary team's capacity to provide high-quality addiction treatment to vulnerable community members.

About the Role

Wellington House is part of Turning Point Addiction Services, a leading provider of specialist drug and alcohol treatment. Our team delivers compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and families affected by addiction and mental health challenges.

As Administrative Assistant, you will be the operational backbone of our service, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning that directly supports client care and clinical operations. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Administrative coordination - Managing appointment schedules, client communications, and general office operations to maintain efficient service delivery
    • Records management - Maintaining accurate, confidential client records and data entry in compliance with health information standards
    • Financial administration - Processing bulk billing claims, managing invoices, and supporting financial record-keeping
    • Client support services - Coordinating meal ordering and dietary requirements for residential clients, contributing to their comfort and wellbeing during treatment
    • Team liaison - Supporting communication between clinical staff, external providers, and administrative functions

This role offers the satisfaction of contributing to meaningful recovery outcomes while working in a supportive, values-driven environment.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
