Allied Health Informatics Officer

Help shape the future of digital healthcare at Eastern Health. We're seeking Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians, Podiatrists and Allied Health Assistants to join our newly established Allied Health Informatics team.

 

About the role

We are seeking Allied Health professionals to join our newly established team in a range of Informatics Officer positions. Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Social Work roles are available at 16 hours per week, while Psychology, Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Podiatry and Allied Health Assistant roles are available at 8 hours per week.

 

As the profession-specific digital health and clinical informatics representative for your discipline across Eastern Health, you will provide leadership in the design, optimisation, implementation and governance of electronic clinical systems. You will help ensure digital workflows, clinical documentation and data collection processes support safe, efficient and high-quality patient care.

 

Working closely with clinicians, professional leaders, managers and the eHealth team, you will act as a key link between clinical practice and technology. The role supports the adoption, optimisation and continual improvement of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and associated digital health systems, while promoting standardised, evidence-based and data-informed practice within your profession.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Qualification and registration in line with profession requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within your profession.
  • Interest, experience or expertise in clinical informatics, digital health or health information systems, including experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems within a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical workflow design and optimisation, with experience leading quality improvement, service improvement or digital initiatives.
  • The ability to engage stakeholders, influence change and drive positive outcomes.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
