About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Clinic Coordinator to support gynaecology and respiratory specialty outpatient clinics to implement the Specific Timely Assessment and Triage (STAT) model through the implementation phase of the Waiting List Evidence to Support Specialist Clinics Research Project (WaitLESS).
The WaitLESS project, funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), will apply the STAT model across eight specialist outpatient clinics at Eastern Health to determine whether this approach can successfully reduce the time taken for a new patient to receive a first appointment. The Clinic Coordinator will:
- Audit and validate waiting lists for gynaecology and respiratory clinics
- Coordinate patient care to ensure timely access to specialist assessment and management
- Liaise with patients, carers, and care teams to support smooth clinic entry, management, and discharge
- Support clinical teams to implement changes that reduce waiting times and improve care quality
- Work closely with clinic staff and the research team to meet project goals
- Collect accurate health service data.
The incumbent will be required to visit various sites of Eastern Health where the clinics involved in the study are located, as well as work from 5 Arnold St, Box Hill. Work from home will be considered depending on the project requirements.

About you
We are seeking an experienced nurse or allied health clinician, , who is interested in improving service delivery and access to outpatient care. If you are interested in demand management and making sure patients receive care in a timely manner this job is for you!
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Essential
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, including ability to manage competing priorities
- Understanding of referral and triage processes in the public hospital system
- Competence with electronic medical records, referral systems, and Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in working with databases, spreadsheets and managing data.
- Highly developed communication skills and experience in engaging stakeholders
- Post graduate qualification relevant to the position or experience in research, project management, public health, health services management or continuous quality improvement
- Digital literacy and experience (or interest) in health technologies and informatics.
Desirable
- Experience working in a specialist clinic setting and/or with the patient populations relevant to gynaecology and respiratory.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
