About the role

 

 

Are you an experienced and compassionate nurse leader looking for an opportunity to provide specialist support, coordination and advocacy for people navigating a gynaecological cancer journey?

 

 

Eastern Health is seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Gynaecological Oncology to join our team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work closely with consumers, families, medical specialists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, consumer-centred care from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.

 

 

As the Gynaecological Oncology Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will be the central point of contact for consumers undergoing investigation, treatment and follow-up for suspected or confirmed gynaecological cancers.

 

 

You will provide expert clinical guidance, care coordination, education and psychosocial support, helping consumers navigate what can be a complex and challenging healthcare journey. Working alongside gynaecological oncologists, nursing, allied health and oncology services, you will play a key role in ensuring seamless, high-quality care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

About you 

 

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

 

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA 
  • Significant clinical experience in women's health, oncology, cancer care or a related specialty area.
  • Demonstrated experience in care coordination and complex patient management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A commitment to partnering in care with consumers and continuous quality improvement.

 

 

Desirable

 

 

  • Postgraduate qualifications in oncology, women's health, cancer nursing or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a Clinical Nurse Consultant or specialist nursing role.
  • Experience supporting patients with cancer diagnoses and treatment pathways.

 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
