About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Mental Health Learning & Teaching Directorate available for a motivated and recovery-oriented Registered Psychiatric Nurse who is passionate about excellence in clinical standards and patient orientated nursing care in mental health.  

Reporting into Learning & Teaching (Mental Health) at Eastern Health you will work closely with other members of the Learning & Teaching Directorate and with staff across the mental health program to provide guidance and clinical skill development to the mental health workforce.  The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for providing direct clinical support and instruction to, and mentoring for graduate nurses, early career nursing staff and students that is responsive to local and organisational priorities, and develops the foundational specialty knowledge required to deliver high quality mental health nurse care to consumers.  

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Bachelor of Nursing or other recognised equivalent formal qualification in Australia 

  • Condition free registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australian (NMBA) via AHPRA 

  • Post Registration or Post Graduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing (Masters Level Preferred)  

  • Experience working in acute mental health 

  • Experience working in community mental health

  • Previous experience in a clinical education role (desirable)  

  • Have excellent knowledge of best practice, recovery oriented care and trauma informed care in mental health nursing care 

  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate staff and to contribute to and foster a positive learning culture 

  • Current Victorian drivers licence 

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or willingness to be supported to complete this training 

  • Expertise in providing clinical supervision and actively engaged in receiving personal clinical supervision.  

  • Have the ability to work autonomously with excellent organisational, critical thinking, problem solving and prioritisation skills 

  • Be highly accountable and display a supportive and engaging style 

  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience 

  • A strong commitment to high quality care 

  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team 

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
