About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian to learn and build on existing skills in a new clinical practice area while developing a career in adult Mental Health Practice. The role is available across the Eastern Health catchment and may include a combination of adult acute inpatient and community work, primarily in the Box Hill area.
In this role, you will provide nutrition assessment, intervention, education, and support to consumers experiencing mental health conditions. Working as part of an interprofessional team, you will contribute to holistic, recovery-oriented care that supports both physical and mental wellbeing.

New to mental health? We welcome applicants from a range of dietetic backgrounds. You will be supported to translate your existing clinical knowledge, skills, and experience into mental health practice, with access to education, supervision, and mentorship to build your confidence and expertise.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Dietetics.
- Eligible for membership of Dietitians Australia (DA) and the Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) Program.
- Participation in APD program of DA or ability to demonstrate that equivalence to APD requirements are maintained on an annual basis.
- Proven ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical expertise to deliver high-quality, evidence-based dietetic assessment, intervention, and treatment that optimises consumer outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a complex caseload, including risk assessment, prioritisation, and comprehensive discharge planning using a person-centred approach.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
