Dietitian Grade 1

About the role

As a Grade 1 Dietitian, you will be part of Eastern Health's dynamic and supportive Dietetics team, delivering high-quality nutrition care primarily at Box Hill Hospital, with opportunities to work across other Eastern Health sites as required.

 

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic dietitian with a passion for general medicine, while also contributing to the Gestational Diabetes outpatient clinic and group education programs. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will support patients across a range of clinical settings and contribute to positive health outcomes through evidence-based nutrition care.

 

Our Dietetics team provides services across the Continuum of Care, including Acute, Subacute, Care at Home, and Residential Aged Care settings. We are committed to evidence-based practice, research, and continuous improvement, and provide strong support for professional growth through regular clinical supervision, mentoring, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Eligibility for membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) and APD program/provisional membership.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years' clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of clinical theory and practice and an understanding of patient centred care.
  • The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Time management capabilities and experience in managing a caseload. 
  • Experience in provision of dietetic services to children and adults.
  • Experience in conducting nutrition education programs for groups and health professionals.

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
