About the role
The Director Speech Pathology/Associate Program Director, Allied Health Mental Health Program is accountable for the profession-specific standards of practice for the Speech Pathology profession across Eastern Health, and for the allied health standards of practice within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Program. This includes effective leadership and management of the allied health workforce. The Director Speech Pathology/Associate Program Director, Allied Health, will work closely with the senior leadership team within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Program to enhance service provision; monitor consumer service and outcomes; and promote evidence-based practice for the suite of clinical services. The role will ensure professional leadership and oversight of credentialing and Scope of Practice for all Speech Pathology services to ensure an appropriately skilled and available workforce across Eastern Health More broadly, the incumbent will build and maintain effective relationships and collaborations with other clinical services; professional chiefs; and other directorates across Eastern Health to ensure alignment and achievement of organisational strategies.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Post graduate qualifications in relevant profession and/or leadership field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated high-level leadership, change management and coaching skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to life-long learning and ongoing professional development of self and others.
- Extensive clinical experience in leadership of health service based allied health services and sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policy directions, strategic documents, service issues and funding models.
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience.
- A strong commitment to high quality care.
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
