About the role
The Financial Accountant is an integral part of the Eastern Health financial accounting team. The successful candidate will utilise their professional qualifications and experience to ensure that:-
- All capital requisitions are completed in a timely manner
- All financial transactions are captured timeously and accurately in the general ledger.
- Financial data is reported (internally and externally) in a timely and meaningful way.
- Work is carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Fellow financial accounting team members (senior and subordinate) are adequately supported in their roles.
- Other Eastern Health staff receive appropriate financial accounting assistance as required.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- CPA, CA or other equivalent qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Appropriate experience in an accounting position.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective financial and accounting services within a team environment.
- Highly developed written and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills with a can-do attitude.
- Proficiency with Windows based applications, particularly spreadsheets and databases
Desirable
- Experience of Oracle ERP.
- Advanced excel skills.
- Experience in the Health Industry desired but not essential
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
