About the role

Eastern Health is seeking motivated HMO3+ doctors to join our General and Surgical streams for Term 4, commencing November 2026.
We are offering:
- 16-month contracts (November 2026 to February 2028)
- 4-month contracts (November 2026 to February 2027)
These opportunities are ideal for doctors seeking flexibility between training years, considering different specialty pathways, or looking to gain valuable experience in a supportive and dynamic health service.
Rotations available in Term 4
We have the following rotations available for doctors commencing in Term 4 (November 2026):
- Emergency Medicine
- General Medicine
- Rehabilitation Medicine, Aged Care, Palliative Care and Aged Psychiatry
- General Surgery
- Plastic Surgery
For doctors appointed to a 16-month contract, rotations from February 2027 onwards will align with the standard Eastern Health General and Surgical HMO program.

About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current AHPRA registration
- Completion of PGY2 and eligibility to commence work at HMO3 level or higher
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- A commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively within a diverse multidisciplinary team
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment. Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
