About the role 

This is a 12-month fixed term contract for a Laboratory Technician in Anatomical Pathology. 

Anatomical Pathology is seeking an experienced conscientious, hardworking, dedicated individual to join our dynamic multi-skilled team that works together to provide great care, everywhere, every time.  

The position requires the right candidate to participate in a rotating roster, performing different duties daily within Anatomical Pathology. Shifts range from 5.30AM to 5:30PM, Monday to Friday.  

About you  

To be successful in this role you should possess: 

• Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Science) or equivalent. 

• Experience in Anatomical Pathology laboratory including specimen reception, embedding, microtomy, special stains and processor maintenance.  

• An adaptive ability to work as part of a diverse team. 

• Excellent communication and organisational skills. 

 Experience in the following will be highly regarded: 

• Direct specimen transfers. 

• Cytology preparation. 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
