About the role 

 

BHH has fixed term (part-time) employment opportunities for passionate, enthusiastic and flexible nurses who would like to get their Nurse Practitioner endorsement in the Emergency Department. This fixed term (part-time) position will see you flourish and provide you with the opportunity to progress to specialised endorsed Nurse Practitioner (Emergency).  

 

You will be well supported by the with the senior Nursing and Medical leaders in the Emergency Department (ED). 

 

About BHH ED 

 

BHH ED cares for over 70,000 patients annually, with an average of 195 presentations per day. We support O&G, paediatrics, neurology, cardiac, general medicine, renal, surgical and mental health patients.  We are a diverse and gender-friendly team, and place high importance on our self-care and wellbeing.  

 

About you  

 

To be successful in this role you will possess: 

 

  • Current registration with AHPRA 

  • Eligible to enroll into the Masters of Advanced Nursing Practice (Emergency Nursing/Nurse Practitioner) (Pathway A) or, Enrolled in equivalent units to full fill AHPRA requirements for endorsement (Pathway B) if you already uphold a Master in Nursing (or equivalent) with emergency specialty. 

  • Ability to prove advanced clinical hours, to AHPRAs requirements for endorsement. 

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills. 

  • A strong commitment to high quality care. 

  • Have a strong background in Emergency Nursing/Medicine in public health. 

  • A strong commitment to high quality care in an MDT team-based approach. 

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills. 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
