About the role
Box Hill Hospital is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Perioperative (Instrument/Circulating) Nurse Manager to join our Operating Suite.
Our Operating Suite is home to an excellent team of highly skilled, dynamic, supportive and friendly staff. Comprised of 11 Operating and Anaesthetic rooms we are busy unit that services a broad range of patients within the Eastern community. We provide a 24-hour 7 day a week service. Box Hill hospital is located close to public transport including trams, trains and buses.
Current surgical specialties include:
General, Colorectal, Upper GI, Bariatrics, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Urology, Vascular, Thoracics, Renal, ENT, Plastics, Breast & Endocrine
As the Nurse Manager you will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of the Operating Suite, reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager.
- Lead and support the nursing team

- Make sound clinical and operational decisions
- Contribute to administrative and compliance requirements
About you
To be successful in this role, you will require
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- A minimum 3 years' management experience within Perioperative Services
- Proven leadership and communication skills in a complex clinical environment
- Ability to coordinate theatre operations and staff allocations in a fast-paced setting
- Skilled in clinical reasoning, prioritisation, and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Postgraduate qualification in perioperative nursing or leadership
- A strong commitment to high quality care
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
