We are seeking experienced Pathology Collectors to join the dynamic team in Pathology Collection services across all Eastern Health locations, providing services to inpatient and outpatient. 

 

 

About the role

 

 

Opportunities exist at our Pathology Collection Services for passionate and enthusiastic Pathology Collectors with sound clinical knowledge and experience in Pathology Collection. You will be required to perform specimen collection at Eastern Health for inpatient, outpatient and have ability to work well in a team environment.

 

 

Eastern Health operates from many different locations, our largest sites include Angliss Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Healesville Hospital & Yarra Valley Health, Maroondah Hospital, Peter James Centre, Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, Wantirna Health, Yarra Ranges Health, Yarra Valley Community Health, Blackburn Surgical Hospital.

 

 

About You

 

 

The ideal candidate will be someone who is compassionate and detail-oriented individual who thrives in fast-paced healthcare environment. With a strong commitment to patient care and safety, you take pride in delivering high-quality Pathology Collection Services. Your excellent interpersonal skills help put patients at ease, and your ability to follow procedures ensures accuracy in every collection.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

 

  • A Certificate III or IV in Pathology collection
  • Previous experience in Pathology Collection
  • Strong communication and customer service skill
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
  • A professional, reliable and empathetic approach to patient care
  • A current driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Available for shifts across weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

 

 

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offerred and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
