About the role
Join one of Melbourne’s largest public health services and make a real impact in patient care and clinical research. In this role, you will:
- Work across all aspects of medicine distribution from dispensing to extemporaneous manufacturing.
- Gain hands-on experience in sterile aseptic and chemotherapy compounding.
- Contribute to specialist areas such as clinical trials.
- Be part of a friendly, supportive team delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care.
- Collaborate with a wide range of health professionals, including study coordinators, principal investigators, and external monitors.
- Manage Investigational Products (IPs) for clinical trials.
- Support prescription processing and maintain accurate inventory control.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Have a strong interest in aseptic manufacturing, including cytotoxic preparation.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and reliability.
- Be confident using computer systems (Microsoft Word, Excel; MERLIN experience desirable).
Desirable
- Experience as a Pharmacy Technician (highly desirable but not essential). A Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy must be commenced within 6 months of commencement and completed within 24 months.
- Experience in clinical trials, aseptic/hazardous compounding, inventory management
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
