About the role

 

 

The Department of Respiratory Medicine provides essential diagnostic and clinical support services to patients across Eastern Health. The Respiratory Bookings admin supports the Respiratory Laboratories by coordinating patient appointments and delivering effective clerical and administrative services, including patient bookings, enquiries, referrals, billing processes, and liaison with clinical teams, ensuring smooth and patient-focused service delivery.

 

 

About you

 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and professional approach to patients and staff
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage bookings and competing priorities
  • Confidence using computer systems, including Microsoft Office and clinical or administrative databases
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and administrative processes within a healthcare setting
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Sound time‑management skills and a flexible, adaptable approach to changing workloads
  • An understanding of confidentiality, privacy, and patient‑centred care principles

 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
