About the ward

Ward 4.1 at Eastern Health Box Hill is a 30 bed inpatient ward and is Eastern Health’s primary inpatient cancer unit, treating both oncological and haematological disorders.

Our patients receive continual care from diagnosis through to treatment and ongoing follow-up support. Treatment options for each of these cancers vary and may include surgery, chemotherapy, targeted or immunotherapy, radiotherapy and autologous stem cell transplant. The health professionals on Ward 4.1 are skilled at managing these treatment modalities as well as their potential side effects and complications.

About you 

As an Oncology/Haematology Registered Nurse, your skills and experience will include:

  • Current, condition-free registration with AHPRA
  • Relevant experience in this specialty or a keen interest to start a career in Oncology/Haematology.
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent clinical care
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, providing patient focused care
  • Active engagement in continued professional and career development

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
