Box Hill Hospital is offering exciting permanent full-time and part-time employment opportunities within our dynamic Emergency Department. We are seeking motivated nurses who are eager to provide high-quality emergency care while developing their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment. There are valuable career progression opportunities to develop your expertise and advance your career with access to the Transition to Specialty Practice program and pathways to complete Post Graduate study in Emergency Nursing. 

 

About Box Hill ED 

 

The Box Hill Emergency Department cares for over 70,000 patients annually which is around 200 presentations every day. Our department offers exposure to a broad spectrum of specialties, including Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Neurology, Cardiology, General Medicine, Renal, Surgery and Mental Health. You'll be part of a diverse, inclusive, and gender-friendly team that values collaboration, clinical excellence, and mutual respect. We prioritise staff wellbeing and self-care, knowing that a supported team delivers the best care to our community.

 

About you

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

 

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Minimum 12 months Emergency Department experience
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills 
  • A strong commitment to high quality care 
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills


Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
