Senior Mental Health Clinician

About the role

ICYMHS Community Teams are multi-disciplinary teams providing specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions with young people aged 0 to 25, presenting with a range of mental health concerns, high levels of distress, and other psycho-social difficulties.  The Box Hill Community Team works closely with young people, their families, and care systems to provide systemic, relational, and recovery based mental health care.

This is an opportunity for a senior clinician, or a clinician who is ready to step up into a senior clinician role, to join a supportive and skilled team. The team has structures to support clinician growth and development, such as, professional, clinical, and discipline specific supervision and support for professional development.

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 

  • Allied health or mental health nurse with five years post graduate experience in public mental health.
  • Current Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or Nursing registration with AHPRA. Social Work eligibility for membership with AASW
  • Post Graduate qualifications in family therapy and/or child psychotherapy is desirable
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience, or willingness to actively develop these skills
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • A desire to engage in reflective practice within a team environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
