About the role
An opportunity exists for a passionate pharmacist with sound clinical knowledge and leadership skills to join and lead our Eastern Health Intensive Care Pharmacy Services. This position is responsible for the direction, planning, provision, and review of pharmacy services to the Eastern Health Intensive Care Program. The position will provide patient-centred clinical services to Eastern Health Intensive Care Service and be responsible for the delivery and development of clinical pharmacy service.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be able to:

Provide clinical pharmacy service to Box Hill Hospital Intensive Care Unit and oversee Intensive Care Service across Eastern Health

Supervise, educate, mentor and performance manage pharmacy staff and students rotating through Intensive Care Service. Ensure staff are trained and credentialled appropriately
- Support rostering and resource management relevant to portfolio in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Assist in organisation, development and delivery of structured education programs. Contribute to medical, nursing, allied health and pharmacy education
- Conduct pharmacy staff clinical orientation and continue to update and maintain the orientation and training programs relevant to the portfolio
- Maintain and develop the quality of clinical pharmacy services relevant to the portfolio
- Monitor key service standards for the provision of pharmacy services
- Participate in development, implementation, evaluation and review of policies, procedures, guidelines and resources
- Ensure pharmacy staff compliance with pharmacy and hospital procedures relating to their responsibilities
- Conduct competency-based assessments
- Provision of quality improvement activities
- Actively conduct practice-based research, contribute to multidisciplinary research activities
- Act as point of contact for other pharmacists and health professionals, and for the hospital or health service relevant to the Intensive Care Pharmacy portfolio
