About the role

 

An opportunity exists for a passionate pharmacist with sound clinical knowledge and leadership skills to join and lead our Eastern Health Renal Pharmacy Services. The Eastern Health Senior Renal Pharmacist is responsible for the direct supervision of clinical renal service on ward 8.1, provision and coordination of pharmacy services to satellite dialysis patients, home dialysis patients and kidney transplant recipients.

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will be able to:

 

  • Oversee daily provision of renal clinical pharmacy services at Eastern Health
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to the renal service inpatient, dialysis unit at Box Hill Hospital and other clinical areas when required
  • Maintain and develop the quality of Eastern Health clinical renal pharmacy services to maximise patient safety
  • Provide appropriate clinical pharmacy and medicines information services relating to renal services
  • Provide clinical leadership for renal service at other Eastern Health Pharmacy sites
  • Oversee the framework for the education and training of all pharmacy staff including intern pharmacists with regards to Eastern Health Integrated Renal Service
  • Lead, supervise, educate and mentor pharmacists, pharmacy interns and students in the Eastern Health Renal Service area
  • Provide Renal Service education to pharmacy, nursing and medical staff as necessary
  • Be part of BHH senior pharmacy management team and oversee junior pharmacy staff as required
  • Contribute pharmacy advice to the development, implementation, evaluation and review of renal services procedures, protocols and tools as necessary
  • Attend and contribute to relevant meetings of the Eastern Health Integrated Renal Service
  • Identify and manage risk and actively work towards implementing risk reduction strategies
