Sleep Scientist

  • Sleep Laboratory | Grade 1 or 2 (dependent on experience)

About the role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional Sleep Scientist to join our friendly and dynamic team at the Box Hill Hospital Sleep Laboratory.

Day shifts (5 per fortnight) are available on a temporary basis 2nd June 2025 to 28th November 2025.

 

Reporting to the Sleep Laboratory Manager your duties will involve sleep study analysis (diagnostic studies, CPAP titrations, oxygen titration, transcutaneous CO2 monitoring, and complex ventilation modes). Duties will also include preparation and patient setup of home sleep studies, and daytime vigilance testing (MSLT/MWT) as required. Other duties include CPAP therapy assistance for patients, involvement in departmental educational calendar, and participation in quality assurance activities.

 

About you

  • Bachelor of Applied Science or equivalent
  • Possess relevant clinical experience in Sleep Study analysis and monitoring
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate organisation skills with respect to time management and delegation
  • Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work autonomously with an analytical approach to troubleshooting
  • Self-motivated and flexible

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
