About the role

The Team Leader within the Mobile Support Team (MSTS) will work collaboratively with the Consultant Psychiatrist and other Senior Clinicians in MSTS, and under the direction of the AMHS Rehabilitation Services Manager in providing professional leadership, ensuring high quality clinical standards, quality improvement and ongoing development of the Rehabilitation Program

 

Main responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Actively lead MSTS team processes to maintain service delivery to consumers and carers – overseeing day-to-day clinical and operational procedures and practices, developing staff rosters, leave management, etc. – under the direction of the Manager AMHS Rehabilitation Services.  
  • With the Consultant Psychiatrist actively co-lead the clinical service delivery and lead the multidisciplinary team to ensure that clinical quality and risk, service performance and care standards are maintained.
  • Carry a reduced clinical caseload to accommodate team leader duties, ensuring effective management and support of both clinical responsibilities and team leader functions. 
  • Lead the implementation of recovery-oriented case management services by the team utilising the Collaborative Recovery Model (CRM).  
  • Ensure that Eastern Health’s objectives are upheld and that the standards, practice guidelines and legal requirements are adhered to and/or implemented by the multidisciplinary team. 

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • At least 5 years’ mental health experience Registered Psychiatric Nurse / Occupational Therapist / Psychologist / or Social Worker as per EBA. 
  • Registration with relevant professional organization or body with relevant post graduate qualifications preferably in mental health or community health.  
  • Experience in supporting adults with the lived experience of mental ill health
  • Previous experience in a clinical leadership role
  • Demonstrated high level of ability to provide and evaluate discipline specific and mental health assessment, consultation, and advice to consumers, carers and other team members in a mental health setting.
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team and autonomously
  • Commitment to supervised practice, ongoing professional development and further developing skills in clinical mental health.
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • You must hold a valid driver's license

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
