Urology Clinical Nurse Consultant

 

  • Part Time | Fixed Term 12 Months | 16 hours per fortnight

About the role

 

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Urology Clinical Nurse Consultant team at Eastern Health. This is a fixed 12 month part time position.

The role includes, but is not limited to 

  • Provide clinical expertise, specialist advice and support to consumers across Urology clinics. 
  • Education of consumers in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. 
  • Collaborate as a part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes for consumers experiencing urology concerns
  • Oversee healthcare programs and services in the urology stream.
  • Oversee clinic operational functions, including follow up of results.
  • Manage patient records ensuring confidentiality and accurate documentation. 

 

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Bachelor of Nursing, Midwifery or other recognised equivalent formal qualification leading to condition free registration in Australia
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australian (NMBA) via AHPRA
  • Competency to insert Male and Female IDC’s and SPC management
  • A minimum of 5 years post registration experience in the specialty area related to the CNC role. 
  • Membership of Australian and New Zealand Urological Nurses Society
  • Desirable- Post Registration or Post Graduate qualification or further study in a relevant clinical or academic field or working towards  
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving ability.
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
