  • Permanent part-time | 48 hours per fortnight
  • Coronary Care Unit | Box Hill Hospital
  • Provide and promote customer service focused, clerical and reception related services

About the role 


Ward 2.2 is a 32-bed department comprising of 6 dedicated Coronary Care Unit beds and 26 ward beds specialising in Cardiology, Respiratory and Infectious Disease services. The Ward Clerk provides clerical assistance to the Nurse Manager or relevant clinical staff to enable the smooth operation of the ward. Performing patient related clerical duties, maintaining medical records and always communicating effectively and courteously with patients, relatives and hospital staff are all vital aspects of this role. 

The required working days for this position is every Monday and Fridays with the 3rd day open to negotiation.

 

About you  


To be successful in this role you will possess: 

  • Administrative experience in a clinical setting (ideal)
  • Competent working knowledge of Patient Management Systems, Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Advanced telephone skills and clerical skills 
  • Ability to provide quality customer service in a friendly and professional manner 
  • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrated organisation and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team 
  • Demonstrated ability to work within deadlines 
  • High degree of flexibility. 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
