About the role
The GEM/REHAB @ Home service running under the @HOME program directorate, provides a specialist Geriatrician or Rehab Physician, Nursing and full Allied Health service to assist the client achieve their goals of care in the comfort of their own home. Patient's admitted to the GEM@HOME service are still fully managed by the hospital and consists of a minimum of Daily visits by hospital clinicians - 7 days a week for a period of approx 2 weeks.
The Allied Health Assistant provides an integral part of the service to provide exercise programs, assistance with equipment and training under the guidance of the Physiotherapists/Occupational therapists in our team. GEM/REHAB@HOME is a dynamic and busy multidisciplinary team that involves looking after GEM and REHAB patients outside of the hospital walls in the comfort of their own homes.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Completion of an Allied Health Assistant Training Qualification and a minimum of 2 years experience post completion of course
- Full Victorian Drivers Licence (with no restrictions)
- Ability to work autonomously given you will be working with patients in their own homes away from other staff members.
- Highly developed interpersonal experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
