About the role

 

In this role, you will:

  • Provide primary supervision for psychology registrars, emerging psychologists, and experienced psychologists, ensuring psychologists are supported in their workplace, and are compliant with documentation and progress reporting requirements.
  • Deliver secondary and group supervision as needed.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of psychology education programs, and collaborate with our interprofessional peers in delivering engaging and evidence-based education.
  • Engage in research and quality improvement projects across Eastern Health, and support Student Project Placements.
  • Support the Student Clinical Placements for Psychology students across Eastern Health; supporting primary supervisors and working with Eastern Health processes to ensure the student placement experience is positive for both students and supervisors.
  • Assist the Principal Educator in planning and managing clinical teaching and education for psychologists employed within the service.

 

 

About you 

 

You are an experienced and motivated professional with a proven track record in:

  • Psychological assessment, treatment, research, and evaluation.
  • Supervising psychologists, registrars, and students.
  • Developing and coordinating education programs for staff and postgraduate students.
  • Driving continuous improvement and quality initiatives.

 

You have excellent communication skills, are an active listener, and can influence and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Postgraduate qualifications in education and supervision are highly desirable.

 

Essential

 

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a psychologist post-general registration with significant clinical experience.
  • Current registration with AHPRA and endorsement in Clinical Psychology.
  • Approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia for registrar and higher degree supervision.

 

Preferred

 

  • Postgraduate qualification in clinical education (or working towards) preferred.
  • Significant experience working within Child, Youth and Family settings in public settings including mental health.

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
