About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Palliative Medicine Specialist/Physician to work as a locum for leave cover which may include ward and consults service, and to work in the palliative medicine outpatient clinic setting for up to 12-months. This provides the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary setting across all sites of Eastern Health. There are 3 outpatient clinics, based at Box Hill Hospital and Maroondah Hospital. You will be joining a dynamic team which includes 5 accredited advanced trainees with 2 based at WH (inpatient Palliative Care Unit), 2 based at BHH and 1 at MH (Consults). There may be an additional registrar based in the community (Eastern Palliative Care) subject to funding.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current AHPRA registration and qualification as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Palliative Medicine, and/or Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
