About the role
Community Rehabilitation is a time-limited, goal-based program, where the incumbent will be expected to work with the client, their carers & our interdisciplinary team to maximise health, functional independence & community participation.
Workload will incorporate both home and centre-based activity inclusive of leading group programs which may include aquatic physiotherapy.
As a Grade 1 physiotherapist in the Community Rehabilitation Program, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of neurological and general rehabilitation clients in addition to non clinical portfolios and responsibilities. This position requires sound clinical skills across neurological rehabilitation and an ability to assess and manage psychosocially complex clients with the support of the interdisciplinary team.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
- Sound clinical skills in managing neurological caseload and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach.
- Broad clinical experience encompassing diverse patient presentations.
- Previous clinical experience working in an aligned clinical environment.
- High level communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated capacity to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice.
- Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
