About the Role  
Community Rehabilitation is a time-limited, goal-based program, where the incumbent will be expected to work with the client, their carers & our interdisciplinary team to maximise health, functional independence & community participation. Workload will incorporate both home and centre-based activity inclusive of leading group programs which may include aquatic physiotherapy.    

As a Grade 2 physiotherapist in the Community Rehabilitation Program, you will be responsible for managing a mixed caseload of neurological and general rehabilitation clients in addition to non-clinical portfolios and responsibilities. This position requires sound clinical skills across neurological and general rehabilitation, and an ability to assess and manage psychosocially complex clients with the support of the interdisciplinary team. This position may also include a role in the supervision, mentoring and support to students, junior staff and allied health assistants.    

 

About You   

You will be a dynamic, enthusiastic team player who is actively seeking to collaborate with others to improve outcomes and experiences for your patients. You will be able to work autonomously in the community. You will participate in teaching, training, research and quality activities as delegated to you by your Team Leader/Senior Clinician and/or Manager (Community Rehabilitation Program and Community Rapid Triage Team).   

To be successful in this role you will possess:  

  • Current Physiotherapy registration with AHPRA.   

  • Experience in managing a complex neurological, and/or general rehabilitation caseload and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach.  

  • Broad clinical experience encompassing diverse patient presentations.  

  • Previous clinical experience working in an aligned clinical environment.  

  • High level communication skills, both written and oral.  

  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team.  

  • Experience in supervision of staff and/or students.

Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
