Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Grade 2 - Community Rehabilitation Program

About the role  

As the Grade 2 Physiotherapist in the Community Rehabilitation Program, you will be responsible for managing a mixed caseload of musculoskeletal and general rehabilitation clients in addition to non-clinical portfolios and responsibilities. You will have sound clinical skills across musculoskeletal and general rehabilitation, and an ability to assess and manage psychosocially complex clients with the support of the interdisciplinary team. This position may also include a role in supervision, mentoring and support to students, junior staff and allied health assistants.   

 

Community Rehabilitation is a time-limited, goal-based program, where you will be expected to work with the client, their carers and our interdisciplinary team to maximise health, functional independence and community participation. Workload will incorporate both home and centre-based activity inclusive of leading group programs which may include aquatic physiotherapy.

 

About you

You will be a dynamic, enthusiastic team player who is actively seeking to collaborate with others to improve outcomes and experiences for your patients while working autonomously in the community.

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current Physiotherapy registration with AHPRA.   
  • Experience in managing a complex musculoskeletal, and/or general rehabilitation caseload and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach.  
  • Broad clinical experience encompassing diverse patient presentations.  
  • Previous clinical experience working in an aligned clinical environment.  
  • High level communication skills, both written and oral.  
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team.  
  • Experience in supervision of staff and/or students.  

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
