About the role
The Community Rehabilitation Programs offers short term goal directed rehabilitation aimed at improving client’s function and independence following a change due to a recent acute medical / health event. The multidisciplinary team provides clinical services to a wide range of clients who have a variety of conditions. This role will provide clinical leadership, intervention, and discharge planning for patients & staff from all four Commuity Rehab sites – PJC, Wantirna, Angliss, Lilydale.
The role is supported by a Grade 4 Clinical Lead, other Senior Clinicians, site Team Leaders, and the Community Rehabilitation Manager.
Your new role:
- Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred leadership including assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for patients in the community
- Supervise, teach and develop your team of speech pathologists, allied health assistants and speech pathology students
- Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients/families, staff and relevant stakeholders in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership
- Actively lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives and research
- Support the CRP Leadership team to meet key performance indicators and day-to-day operations of the service
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Approved degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent; and eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Have experience (minimum 7 years) in the area of rehabilitation with an ability to manage complex caseloads using a client-centered approach
- Extensive experience and competency with instrumental swallow assessments (eg. Videofluroscopy)
- Have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others
- A demonstrated capacity to inspire, influence, lead and motivate staff and to contribute to a positive and compassionate organisational culture
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
