About the role

 

 

The Transition Care Program (TCP) provides short-term support and care to older people across multiple Eastern Health sites. The Administration Assistant provides high-level administrative, clerical and reception support to clients, clinical staff and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring efficient, patient-focused services in accordance with Eastern Health policies, procedures and values.

 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the Transition Care Program, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, privacy and procedures.
  • Provide and promote high-quality, patient-focused customer service and act as an initial point of contact.
  • Support data collection, purchasing, accounts, supplies and administrative systems.
  • Oversee client medical records, filing systems, non-clinical equipment and facility requirements.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, training and orientation to administration staff.
  • Develop and maintain consistent administrative processes, systems and procedures.
  • Coordinate administration staff rostering, workload allocation and coverage.
  • Delegate and coordinate general administrative and word processing tasks.
  • Role model Eastern Health values and undertake other duties as required by the Manager.

 

 

About you 

 

 

  • Experienced administration leader with the ability to coordinate high-quality, customer-focused service delivery
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • Excellent planning, organisational, time management and delegation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. 
  • High-level computer literacy and advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
