About the role

 

 

The Canterbury Road Community Care Unit (CRCCU) is part of Eastern Health’s Adult & Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Program. It is a 20-bed community based residential facility and features a highly structured and supportive physical environment. The clinicians within the multi-disciplinary team have high levels of contact and interaction with consumers with a lived experience of mental ill health, their carers, an external supports to promote self-determination and reach individual recovery goals. At the CRCCU, the social work team delivers high-quality assessment and intervention, and champions specialised social work input within the local multidisciplinary team. Within the role, the social work grade 1 will also provide case management and participates in delivering the group program.

 

 

Please note, this role works a rotational roster of morning and afternoon shifts. 

 

 

About you 

 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 

 

  • A degree qualification in social work that has been approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers as eligible for membership as a social worker
  • Exprience working in a mental health setting
  • Demonstrated skills and experience facilitating family meetings and single session family consultations (SSFC), or a willingness to undertake training to embed this into practice
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills 
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
