About the role
 

Physician Training at Eastern Health is in an exciting phase of growth and has a well supported Education program aimed to help you get through your training, pass your exams and ultimately be a caring and compassionate Physician. There is a number of National examiners that support and mentor our trainees. You will also have a dedicated Educational Supervisor during your training.

 

This position is clinically responsible to the Registrar and Consultants of the Unit.

The Basic Physician Trainee Year 1 is responsible for coordinating and documenting the admission, management and discharge planning of patients admitted to their ward. You will also participate in the Basic Physician Training Program and register and complete the requirements of the Royal Australian College of Physicians. You report to the Director of Physician Education for your training responsibilities.

We are recruiting doctors who are interested in starting their Basic Physician Training in 2025. This role is available to those doctors who are currently interns or a higher PGY level.

Rotations may include Cardiology, Oncology, Infectious diseases, renal, neurology, gastro, aged care and emergency.

  • Current registration with AHPRA (with general registration to be granted by Feb 2025
  • To complete registration with RACP by February 2025
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
