About the role
The HMO role is a 6 or 12-month rotation in one or more of the Emergency departments at Eastern Health. It is a specifically designed position to enhance skills and experience in the area of Emergency medicine and Critical Care.

Participating in a rotating roster, this position is closely mentored and supervised and you will be working in a well-supported environment. This position is ideal for those pursuing Emergency Medicine, GP or Critical Care Training.

  • Current registration with AHPRA 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Essential employment criteria for International Medical Graduates: 

  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia 
  • Passed Australian Medical Council (AMC) Parts 1 and 2
  • Eligible to work in Australia 
  • English Language – minimum International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 5 in each component or a score of at least ‘B’ in each component of the Occupational English Test (OET) 1)
  • Internship completed in country of study  
  • Previously practiced medicine for more than 2 years 

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
