About the role
 

Eastern Health are recruiting General Hospital Medical Officers (Year 3+) for the 2025 HMO year.  These positions are suitable for doctors wishing to pursue a career in General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Women & Children, or those who have yet to decide on a career path. Rotations include Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Aged Care, General Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Mental Health.  All HMOs will participate in the night/relieving roster.

 

Eastern Health welcomes junior medical staff into a supportive and stimulating workplace and our excellent postgraduate medical education unit is headed by a Director and supported by four site based Supervisors of Junior Doctor Training, two Medical Education Officers and an Administrative assistant. The unit provides both an intern and HMO education program, and includes a junior doctor podcast, grand rounds and unit specific education. 

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 

  • Current registration with AHPRA 

  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience

  • A strong commitment to high quality care

  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
