About the role
Eastern Health fosters a culture of lifelong learning and is now recruiting mid-year postgraduate students in several acute specialty areas. During your postgraduate studies, you will be supported with clinical education and supervision, delivered by experienced members of the Eastern Health Learning & Teaching team, whose priority is to support your professional development and career aspirations. You will also have access to a team of committed interdisciplinary clinical experts to support and guide your learning throughout the program. We are currently offering clinically supported postgraduate positions within the following specialty areas: acute medicine, surgical and specialty medicine.
Opportunities within a number of these specialty programs are available across more than one of Eastern Health's three acute sites. You will be asked to nominate your desired specialty program, and site if applicable, during the application process. We hold partnerships with various universities, specific to the area of specialty practice. Successful applicants to the Eastern Health Postgraduate Program will be required to also apply for our designated tertiary affiliate's specialty program. Each program commences on or before Monday 21st of July 2025.

Please note that positions within Specialty Medicine 3N, Acute Medicine 6.2 Box Hill Hospital, 6.1 Box Hill Hospital, 9.2 Box Hill Hospital, 1E Maroondah Hospital, Surgical 9.1 Box Hill Hospital, All Day Procedure units and 2W Angliss are only open to internal/existing staff on these wards
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) registration with AHPRA
- Recent acute clinical experience (>1 year post-registration nursing experience, with successful completion of a Graduate Nurse Program preferable)
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and a proactive and receptive approach to feedback
- A self-directed and motivated approach to learning
- A strong commitment to excellence and high-quality patient care. The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
