Mental Health Post Graduate Position (Registered Nurse) - 2025

About the role

Eastern Health is now recruiting Mental Health Nursing Post Graduate students for 2025 within a number of areas. We are currently offering clinical positions in the mental health program with opportunities to rotate through an acute inpatient unit (6months) and a speciality area (6months). Possible rotations include; Eastern Homeless Outreach Psychiatric Service, Mobile Support and Treatment Service, Community Care Units, Adolescent, Adult and Older Adult Inpatient Services, and Drug & Alcohol Services.    

 

We have primary partnerships with various Universities, and you will be supported by clinical experts and experienced members of the Mental Health Learning and Teaching Directorate.  

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess: 

  • Bachelor of Nursing or other recognised equivalent formal qualification leading to condition free registration in Australia 

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australian (NMBA) via AHPRA 

  • 12 months’ post registration employment experience, inclusive of six months’ experience contemporary acute mental health  

  • Must be enrolled and participating in a post graduate diploma in 2025 and remain so for the duration of the post graduate program 

  • Demonstrated clinical skills aligned with experience and scope of practice 

  • Motivated and self-directed learner who is receptive to feedback 

  • Well-developed communication skills  

  • Patient centred practice  

  • Passion for clinical excellence  

  • Willingness to engage in clinical supervision practice 

  • Ability to work a full rotating roster 

  • A current valid Victorian Drivers Licence 

  • Up to date Vaccinations COVID-19 & Influenza 


Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
