About the role
Eastern Health is recruiting Hospital Medical Officers (PGY2) for the 2026 medical year. This role will provide the exposure necessary to ensure our doctors thrive and build the necessary skills to become future clinicians. The role will ensure various exposure to well-supported clinical experiences necessary obtain a PMCV Certificate of Completion for PGY2 with the aim of providing a broad generalist experience throughout all prevocational medical training (PGY1 and PGY2).
Eastern Health welcomes junior medical staff into a supportive and stimulating workplace. Our excellent postgraduate medical education unit is headed by a Director and supported by site based Supervisors of Junior Doctor Training, a Medical Education Officer and an Administrative assistant. The unit provides both an intern and HMO education program, and includes grand rounds, and unit specific education.
This position is part of the PMCV Match. Applicants must apply to both PMCV and Eastern Health. PMCV eligibility criteria applies.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
