2026 Psychiatry Registrars - First Year Trainees

Registered medical practitioners with suitable experience are invited to apply for First Year Psychiatry Trainee positions commencing February 2026 at Eastern Health.

The Eastern Health Mental Health and State-wide Services offer comprehensive, coordinated Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Services across all age groups in the Eastern region of Melbourne, covering an estimated population of 820,000 people. These services are publicly funded, and include Adult, Aged, Child & Adolescent, and state-wide specialist services in personality disorder (Spectrum) and drug and alcohol (including Turning Point Alcohol & Drug Centre). 

 

About the role
The Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria Inc. administers the Advanced Trainee Selection and Matching (ATSM) service on behalf of the Victorian Psychiatry Training Committee (VPTC) and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).  Additionally, please ensure you apply to PMCV.

Our comprehensive training program addresses all the requirements of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists whilst providing relevant and extensive experience in a wide variety of settings. 

Eastern Health runs a highly regarded academic program and exam preparation programs covering all aspects of the training requirements. There are also opportunities for trainees to participate in research in a wide variety of subjects.
