About the role
Eastern Health is recruiting RN Transition to Specialty Practice Positions for 2023 across numerous clinical areas including: Adult & Older Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Units and the Adolescent Inpatient Unit
The Mental Health Transition to Specialty Program is intended to provide an introduction for those wishing to pursue a career as a mental health nurse. This structured program incorporates both theoretical elements in addition to practical experience with allocated study days, learning packages and clinical assessments. During the course, participants will be supported by experts within the clinical facility and the clinical education staff of the Learning and Teaching Directorate.
The program provides a career pathway for those Registered Nurses seeking to work in the mental health speciality environment whilst enhancing their critical thinking, theoretical knowledge and clinical skills and is a great stepping stone to Post Graduate studies.
About you
To be successful in this role you should possess the following:
- RN Registration with AHPRA
- Minimum of 12-months experience working as a registered nurse; preferably having completed a Graduate Program previously
- Proactive, reflective, self-directed learner
- Well-developed communication skills
- Patient centred practice
- Team player
- Passion for clinical excellence
- Willingness to engage in clinical supervision practice
- Willingness to work rotating roster
- A current valid Victorian Drivers Licence
- Up to date Vaccinations COVID-19 & Influenza
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
