About the role

Eastern Health is recruiting Hospital Medical Officers (PGY2) for the 2027 medical year. This role will provide the exposure necessary to ensure our doctors thrive and build the necessary skills to become future clinicians. 

The PGY2 program provides the clinical exposure required to work towards a PMCV Certificate of Completion of PGY2, while supporting the goal of broad-based generalist training across the prevocational years. Through a variety of rotations, doctors will gain valuable experience in diverse clinical settings and specialties.

Eastern Health welcomes junior medical staff into a supportive and stimulating learning environment for junior medical staff. Our Postgraduate Medical Education Unit is led by a Director of Medical Education and supported by dedicated Supervisors of Junior Doctor Training, a Medical Education Officer and administrative support staff across our sites. The unit provides both an intern and HMO education program, and includes grand rounds, and unit specific education.

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner
• Experience in the Australian Hospital system (desirable)
