About the Mental Health and Wellbeing Program

Eastern Health Mental Health and State-wide Services provide comprehensive, coordinated Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services across the eastern region of Melbourne, supporting an estimated population of more than 820,000 people. These publicly funded services span all age groups and include Adult, Older Adult, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, as well as state-wide specialist services in personality disorders (Spectrum) and alcohol and other drugs, including the Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre.

 

Our services are delivered across a diverse range of inpatient, community and specialist settings. Major sites include Angliss Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Healesville and District Hospital, Maroondah Hospital, Peter James Centre, Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, Wantirna Health, Yarra Ranges Health and Yarra Valley Community Health.

  

Eastern Health offers a highly regarded academic program and dedicated exam preparation program, supporting trainees to meet all Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) training requirements. Our comprehensive training program provides broad and diverse clinical experience across a wide range of settings. In addition, trainees have opportunities to participate in research across a variety of clinical, academic and service development areas.

 

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current General registration with AHPRA
  • Must have completed mandatory rotations in both Consultant Liaison (CL) Psychiatry & Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS)
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
