About the role

Reporting to the Director, Eastern Health Institute, the Director of Post Graduate Medical Education Unit is responsible for strategically leading and managing Post-graduate Medical Education programs at Eastern Health, encompassing Intern, PGY2, and HMO positions. This role does not provide oversight for junior medical staff in Vocational Training (College) positions.

The role is accountable for the management and performance of the clinical supervisors and medical education staff within the Post-graduate Medical Education Unit.

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  •  
    • Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Specialist
    • Post-graduate qualifications in Education
    • Extensive clinical medical education experience, with keen interest in innovations in medical education and curriculum development
    • Demonstrated competence in a leadership role working in complex organisations leading the delivery of high quality learning and teaching solutions
    • Experience in successfully collaborating with health care professionals and executive
    • Proven ability to manage many simultaneous projects to meet business goals and objectives

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
