Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.

About the role
Eastern Health has two new roles to work with either the acute or subacute teams. As the successful candidate, you will work within the Grade 3 scope of practice as a qualified Allied Health Assistant (AHA), holding a Certificate IV qualification or recognised equivalent. In this role, you will provide safe, evidence-based, and person-centred care under the direct, indirect, or remote supervision of an Allied Health Professional (AHP). You will also deliver both clinical and non-clinical support to designated Allied Health Professionals or the broader Allied Health team.
You will be working as part of multidisciplinary team at the Peter James Centre or Box Hill Hospital. You will experience a supportive environment that ensures structured supervision, professional development opportunities and quality activities.
You will take a clinical lead role where required, supporting the daily activities of Grade 2 Allied Health Assistants or volunteers as directed by an AHP. In addition, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, not only for yourself but also in supporting the growth of others.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Completion of Certificate IV (Allied Health Assistant) from a registered training organisation, or recognised equivalent inclusive of relevant discipline modules aligned to advertised role.
- Completed a minimum of 3 years’ experience (full time equivalent) as a Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant
- Demonstration of a human rights based approach to all aspects of work
- An understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
- An understanding of the delivery of safe and effective care
- An ability to recognise, understand and report risk with sound judgement
- Knowledge of the Allied Health Assistant role, scope of practice and Department of Health Supervision and Delegation framework
- An ability to work effectively with Allied Health Assistant – Grade 2, the broader AHA workforce, Allied Health Professionals and the relevant healthcare team through demonstrated capabilities of effective team leadership, empathy, respect and professional engagement
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
