Allied Health Assistant - Casual Grade 2  

  • Casual Weekday opportunity within our bed-based inpatient services  
  • Joining the Physiotherapy and or Occupational Therapy Allied Health Assistant team
  • We require reasonable availability across the next 6- month period 
  • Flexibility in casual hours to meet work/ life balance would be negotiated

About the role 

This key role is aligned to the delivery of allied health assistant interventions as part of an  bed based Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy service. You will be responsible in assisting physiotherapists and/ or occupational therapists with their bed based patients in the provision of best practice patient care as well as non-clinical duties that support the efficient operation of a busy service environment. This is a great opportunity to build and develop your skills as a Grade 2 AHA.  

  

On a daily basis, as the right person for this role, you will be expected to apply your commitment to the Eastern Health promise of Healthier Together through your clinical and team skills in delivery of clinical care and non-clinical duties. You will be supported by an Allied Health Assistant Grade 3 as your supervisor and our Physiotherapists. To be a success in this role you will dynamically respond to workload demands across the site being involved in the clinical care of a wide variety of patients.  

  

 

About you  

To be successful in this role you will possess: 

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance is required (academic transcript of completion required) if applicable or currently undertaking undergraduate occupational therapy or physiotherapy training 3rd year or 4th year 
  • Experience within an bed based hospital stream is desirable   
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication both written and oral  
  • A strong commitment to high quality care  
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team  
  • Excellent time management and organisational skill  

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
